This us a Japanese huntsman spider. This particular spider is also known as ‘Little Spider’ due to her being the smaller of the two my friend Noelle had in her keeping. Even though Little Spider is now dead, stuffed and glued to a case she still freaks me out greatly I’m thinking of adding sand under her feet and then dealing the case. She is by far the strangest and most unique thing I have from Japan. Thank you Noelle. #spider #japan #japanesehuntsman #gracerain #scary #myfriendisawesome

The Japanese Sparrow Wasps’ nest (Vespa analis) was found a few years ago. This doesn’t quite show the size relevance so I’ll give you an idea. This nest most likely housed over one thousand wasps and is as large as a beach ball (perhaps larger, depending on the size of the beach ball).
The actual bugs are both wasps found in Japan. The small one is the Japanese Sparrow Wasp (Vespa analis). the other two are the Japanese Giant Hornets (Vespa mandarinia japonica).
